Look for a genuine fit
A smaller podcast with a closely matched audience may offer a more relevant conversation than a broad outlet. Research its subjects, format, and recent episodes before deciding to approach it.
Offer a useful angle
Give the editor or producer a specific idea their audience can use. Explain why your perspective fits and support any claims with reliable evidence. A book announcement alone may not be enough.
Measure what you can observe
Record pitches, replies, interviews, published links, and referral activity where available. Distinguish activity from outcomes and avoid attributing every change in sales to one publicity action. Coverage decisions remain with the outlet.
General guidance only. The right approach depends on the book, audience, publishing route, and agreed scope.
